US Students Q: Can SUPPA’S guide us to a Structural Study Plan in an Organized Manner? A: This is common to everybody no matter you are a student, teacher or a professional. Everybody must have an organized structure. Even an organization must have an organized structure to be successful in their missions and goals. SUPPA’S going to guide you for a “Highly Successful Structure.” SUPPA’S ‘mottos’ is “Well Begun is Half Done.” a. Bring Everything to the table? When it comes to students, the real question is how could you organize your studies? It’s not only school work, you must consider all your personal life matters, your family engagements, your other loved ones, and your friends. And further, you got to consider your religious matters, volunteer matters, your sports and leisure activities, and social and economic activities. Bring everything to the table before start planning. b. Plan for 1 Year Let’s see how could we do it. This is the most important thing to understand when you’re trying to organize a structure for you. First you have to think of every activity in ahead of you for one whole year. Include everything as explained above. Everything must be in line for one year. If you have any special activity that you have to complete in the next three years, separate events that you have to complete in first, second and third years. Bring down what to be done in the first year as we are going to concern about your next year. Now you have everything listed what you have to do in one whole year, which is 12 months. Divide them and spread them to next 12 monthly as and when each should be performed in next 12 months. Follow the priority principals. Now you will be able to see activities that needed to cover each month. Check again, as an example, if you have to work in your club for the annual trip which is happening in the month of August, this does not need to go to each month. Preparations should begin in April or May and more time may be given only in July and August. Some activities you may complete together with another or some may spread among few months. It is important to understand and utilize more time for your school activities specially which are difficult to you. You may decide to drop some less important matters which consume more time and use those saved times to achieve better results in most important activities. c. Separate in Monthly Basis You must do the monthly planning very cautiously. Pay attention from the first month. Analyze all work to be done in the first month. You may identify that you cannot do all in one month or every month specially an identified club responsibility as too much work involved. As you are in the beginning of a year, do not hesitate take a decision and resign from that additional club and also, give them the notice of your decision early as possible, so that they could find a replacement and you will be adjudged as a person, handled a matter in a responsible manner. d. Bringdown to Weekly Plan System Once you complete all monthly plans, then you have to align them in to weekly plans. Value each matter and try to analyze the number of hours each different matter required and also how many hours you can spend. Do not try to plan everything in daily basis at the beginning of the year. e. Daily Plans with School Work Beginning of each month or a week before, you may spread all weekly plans in daily basis for the following month. Now you have a list of work to be done every day. You must be very careful to all daily targets. If you are a student, you have to go to the school all week days. And also remember you need to reserve time for transportation and time to get ready. Once you come back from school you need to have your lunch and/or have a rest before you start your studies. Did you know that, you have to reserve few hours almost every day to complete your school assignments? f. Challenges in Planning Travelling may be required to perform some of your work Unexpected weather conditions, health, sicknesses, social activities may take you away from your planned routines. Always reserve FOUR HOURS on weekly basis without allocating any work. You may utilize those four hours for matters you could not attend as explained above or matters you could not plan or which are harder than your expectations. These four hours reserved time on weekly basis will lead you to your success. g. Enjoy the Super Plan with/without changes Act wisely according to fact changes. It may be difficult to study while travelling but can do some math assignments even with the distractions from your environment. Work assignments can be re arranged at any time as it’s deems required. Use TWO HOURS at the beginning of every month to re-visit your planned schedules and make necessary changes. It is also important to see the way you managed to complete all your tasks last month and make changes to the incoming month as accordingly. Q: What should I do to prevent getting poor grades? A: if you are getting poor grades it can be due to many reasons. May be something wrong with the style you are studying or the way you are answering in your exams. May be some critical error in the way you’re preparing your assignments. The very first thing that you have to do is to meet and discuss the issue with your Professor. If not, talk to your counselor or the Head of the Department/Section. It is also worth to trying with another lecturer who is closer to you. Talk to your friends to see how they have overcome similar issues or how they have been doing. SUPPA’S is an option to students to find solutions. Your parents or peer students also can be very helpful, if you talk to them. Q: How can I continue with Eight Hours Sleep every day? A: Doctors and Physicians always suggest that everyone need at least 8 hours sleep every day to maintain a healthy life. It is not our intention to dispute that opinion. But we must face the real truth. A student usually wake-up at 6:00am to go to the school and the earliest possible to start studies after coming home, is at 5:00pm. If you follow the eight hours rule, you need to sleep at 10.00pm. Therefore, only five hours available in daily routine to do the entire work even including the dinner time. It is a fact among high school students that most of them don’t sleep even four hour every day and later face so many issues even depression and stress. US high school system is extremely competitive and of course to be in the best 5% of brightest students, you need to attend to many activities in daily basis. SUPPA’S seriously warn all students that you need to have at least 6 hours sleep and not to spend three consecutive days less than six hours sleep. However, under any reason, if you happened to sleep less than six hours on daily basis, you are seriously in need of medical advice. If you show any symptoms because of your low sleeping hours, you must seek a professional assistance from a Neurologist soon. SUPPA’S suggest that since, majority of students are suffering from sleeping disorders, all schools, colleges, and universities must have a helping system for their students to overcome from all sleep disorders. Q: How do I manage my time and my coursework? A: First important thing is that you must be aware about your limits, your priorities, your personal requirements, financial capabilities, your friends, your skills, and weaknesses. Secondly, do the right thing at the right time. Do not take a risk and wait until the last minute. Do not postpone anything. Many things you experience in life you get second chances. But “not everything.” Specially in your higher studies starting from your high school. Particular subject and the semester you spent will never come to you ever in your life again. Your high school four years are the most important time in your life. Whether it is good or bad; all attitudes you practice, everything you grab in to your knowledge, your behavioral patterns, the way how you respond to others and react to issues will remain in your life forever. These four years you have the flexibility to do anything and gain everything. Once you are in your senior year, you are who you are. You will become an adult and start taking your own decisions. If you are full of all wrong things, bad attitudes that is how you are going to spend the rest of your life. You must 100% focused to studies. Q: How do I prioritize my daily targets? A: Check the comprehensive answer given above to have a structured plan. You can achieve everything in your life, once you have a proper plan. Q: How can I chose a major that will benefit both my interest and my future? A: It is true that, you have to choose your degree which is best to make your path for a bright future. SUPPA’S have answered in elsewhere about how to choose your degree and major in colleges. It is true that, your major must be something you are interested, as otherwise you will be in that mess for your life time and sooner or later you will quit. You have then wasted your entire life for something you didn’t like and now you need to start a new path without any educational qualifications and experience. People may tell you many things.
