Write your question here for an Open Discussion Dear CEO, I am Beneta, 22 years old student from Bhutan. I completed my secondary education and then followed a 2 years Advanced Diploma course hoping to start studies in Australia. I got an offer from a university in Australia but now they are advising me to start online studies until I approved to travel to Australia. I do not want to study online. Please advise me. Are there any advantages of studying online? But what are my consequences, if I denied to study online now? Hi Beneta, Thank you for consulting SUPPA’S. This is a question to many international students due to pandemic effects and my intention is to explain this in few different angles. International students get student visa refusals to Australia and other major countries due to many reasons. This is an unprecedent time and some countries even do not allow international students to apply for student visas. However, Australian universities are mainly giving their newly registered students two options; either to study online or join their branch campuses or affiliated colleges in some countries where no restrictions to travel to their countries. Both of these options open great opportunities to students. If you start online studies, you are being accepted to the course and by the time the immigration officers try to assess your application they have very little option or no option to refuse your student visa as you have already studying the course in that university. SUPPA’S see this is a super chance to students to have confidence in their visa decisions. The negative issue could be the amount of fees your institution charges for ‘online studies.’ If that is very much less and reasonable, we see no reason you refuse to study online. If you refuse to study online, you may have to face consequences. Once the pandemic is over, you will not be able to join the university as your course is already started. University cannot enroll you with other students. You may have to wait for the next semester and undergo all immigration requirements and conditions. Good Luck! CEO – SUPPA’S Supem Fernando
