OghenekomeUnufe (Kome) was one of the popular foreign Attorneys among UMB Carey Law School during 2018/2019. Kome focused on Environmental Law and is a recipient of David Hoffman Fellowship award in 2019.

Kome successfully completed LL.B (JD Equivalent) in 2005 from the University of Benin (Edo, Nigeria) and in 2007, successfully qualified with BL, Barrister-at-Law at the Nigerian Law School (Abuja, Nigeria) and in May 2007, received the Certificate of Call to the Bar in Nigeria.

Kome began his career as ‘Pupil State Counsel, Ministry of Justice, Lafia (Nassarawa, Nigeria) in the Public Prosecutor’s office till February, 2008 and in November 2008 he joined P. M. Prefa& Associates, Yenagoa-Bayelsa State in Nigeria and started working with senior litigators and became a Litigating Advocate in Criminal, Civil, Business, Admiralty and Environmental Laws. He provided consultancy/legal services for an environmental group “Climate Change Africa” (CCA) campaigning and agitating for the protection of the Niger-Delta environment.

Kome is now looking forward to enter to the New York Bar and carrying out legal work of the Nigerian Law Firm. Kome is highly determined to help the student population in Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana and Cameroon where he represents all five countries for SUPPA’S.
